With superb rooftop views over the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh and beyond, Sea View Apartment is a welcoming, bright and spacious first floor apartment. Recently renovated to a very good standard, its contemporary open plan living space has large comfortable sofas, and guests will find this a great place to relax in after a day exploring. With windows on two sides, you can admire the passing ships on the Firth of Forth, whilst at New Year and during the Edinburgh Festival, you will be able to see the spectacular fireworks display across the water in Edinburgh. The kitchen/dining area has been fitted with quality appliances and is well equipped for preparing a family meal. There are three bedrooms, one double, a twin and a single, as well as a family shower room.Accessed via a cobbled courtyard, part of the building dates back to the 1700s, and the building is of historical importance, having once been the home of the Scottish naval officer, Samuel Greig. In the 1700s, he was sent by the British Government to assist Catherine the Great with the Russian Navy. He became an admiral and commander of the Baltic Fleet and had great success in the battles of Chesme and Hogland. There is a plaque on the outside of the building placed by the Moscow Caledonian Club. Located behind the local inn, and with the pub and local amenities all within walking distance, Inverkeithing has some fascinating historic buildings to see, including the Mercat Cross and Thomsoun’s House. You can leave the car behind and travel over the Forth Railway Bridge. With a regular train service from the local railway station, guests can be in the centre of Edinburgh in under ½ an hour - perfect for guests wanting to spend some time in the capital city, or visit the Edinburgh International Festival or Military Tattoo.The Fife Coastal Route can be joined in Inverkeithing, and guests can enjoy walks with wonderful coastal view of the Forth Bridges, Firth of Forth and Island of Inchcolm, passing through pretty villages with sandy beaches and historic ruins, including Aberbour Castle.There are many visitor attractions within a short distance to suit all ages. Deep Sea World offers guests the opportunity to walk along the world’s longest under water tunnel while sharks swim by; Dunfermline’s royal palace is the final resting place of Robert the Bruce and eleven Scottish kings.
