Forth View Apartment is a bright and welcoming second floor apartment with great views over to Edinburgh and Arthur’s Seat across the Firth of Forth. Guests looking for a romantic escape can wake up to a lovely views over the Firth of Forth from the double bedroom. There is a further bedroom with a kingsize bed, a family shower room and a bright and spacious open plan living area. It makes a cosy retreat whatever the weather, where you can relax and enjoy the sea views, or prepare a special meal in the kitchen area, which is fitted with quality appliances.Accessed via a cobbled courtyard, part of the building dates back to the 1700s, and the building is of historical importance, having once been the home of the Scottish naval officer, Samuel Greig. In the 1700s, he was sent by the British Government to assist Catherine the Great with the Russian Navy. He became an admiral and commander of the Baltic Fleet and had great success in the battles of Chesme and Hogland. There is a plaque on the outside of the building placed by the Moscow Caledonian Club. Located behind the local inn, and with the pub and local amenities all within walking distance, Inverkeithing has some fascinating historic buildings to see, including the Mercat Cross and Thomsoun’s House. You can leave the car behind and travel over the Forth Railway Bridge. With a regular train service from the local railway station, guests can be in the centre of Edinburgh in under ½ an hour - perfect for guests wanting to spend some time in the capital city, or visit the Edinburgh International Festival or Military Tattoo.The Fife Coastal Route can be joined in Inverkeithing, and guests can enjoy walks with wonderful coastal view of the Forth Bridges, Firth of Forth and Island of Inchcolm, passing through pretty villages with sandy beaches and historic ruins, including Aberbour Castle.There are many visitor attractions within a short distance to suit all ages. Deep Sea World offers guests the opportunity to walk along the world’s longest under water tunnel while sharks swim by; Dunfermline’s royal palace is the final resting place of Robert the Bruce and eleven Scottish kings. For guests who would like a round of golf whilst on holiday, there are some excellent local courses close by, and the championship courses of St Andrews can be reached in less than an hour.Situated in the Royal Burgh of Inverkeithing, The Courtyard properties make ideal bases from which to explore the local and surrounding areas.
