There is a huge variety of wildlife to be seen, including red squirrels, woodpeckers, owls and ospreys, whilst the River Southesk is home to salmon and even freshwater pearls. Within the immediate grounds of the castle there are many paths laid out for guests, leading to follies and fine views on the way to the river and estate lake. Enjoy a barbecue or a game of tennis on the private court, or take a leisurely cycle on one of the many quiet roads which cross through the estate.The Lauderdale is situated on the first floor and features the main family bedrooms of previous generations – all extremely comfortable and generous in size, with spacious sitting areas where you can relax and soak up the atmosphere. All are en-suite with updated bathrooms and gallons of hot water. There is an open plan living/kitchen with a more modern feel with plenty of space for cooking and dining.
