Upon arriving at Kilchuimen House, you enter the property into the utility room which links to a convenient toilet. Through here is the huge open plan living space, boasting luxurious fixtures and fittings. The farmhouse style kitchen has all the modern appliances you could need, and the spacious dining room has patio doors that open out onto the garden. Here there is also a magnificent double-breasted wood burner. The living area is spacious and is the perfect place for competitive board games, watching a movie or simply enjoying the views.
Downstairs are two spacious twin bedrooms, both enjoying great views and with the option to be converted into doubles. There is also a family bathroom on this floor. Upstairs you arrive at the pièce de résistance, the sitting room. It’s flooded with natural light thanks to the floor to ceiling apex window which leads to a balcony, from which the views are exceptional. Luxurious furnishings make this living room a place everyone will want to be.
At either side of this sitting room is a large double bedroom. The master bedroom has an en-suite and the other double has a large bathroom just outside, also off the sitting room. Both bedrooms are finished to a luxurious standard, and enjoy exceptional views of the loch and abbey.
The enclosed garden is perfect for families and those with dogs, and with the warm, dry weather this area often gets in the summer (as it’s sheltered from the west coast), the garden furniture and charcoal barbecue will be very welcome.
Fort Augustus is so very well placed for guests to explore different part of the Scottish Highlands. Inverness and Fort William are each only 30 miles away, whilst Aviemore and the Cairngorms are a little over an hour away, so too is the Isle of Skye and some of the best of the North Coast 500 route around Applecross and Torridon. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
