Rowan Cottage is constructed of thick stone walls and set in a delightful courtyard setting overlooking the stunning waters of the Cromarty Firth. Originally built in the 1800’s to store grain and wool, this converted steading now provides exceptionally spacious accommodation for up to five guests. The large living room has two leather sofas, solid wood flooring and warm welcoming underfloor heating. The kitchen/dining room has every modern convenience combined with luxurious living, including granite worktops and stylish slate flooring. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, all superbly decorated and furnished tastefully with colour coordinated soft furnishings.Highland Farm Cottages are situated on the owner’s working farm in Mountgerald. There are sheep in the adjoining fields and chickens roam freely in the paddocks. The owners have built a thriving farm restaurant and shop selling good local produce. This award-winning family business is very convenient for visitors, being right on the doorstep, if you feel like a break from the cooking. The nearby town of Dingwall, just 5 minutes’ away, has an excellent range of small shops, supermarket and facilities. There is plenty to see and do in the area. Within a short drive there are numerous places of interest with castles, historic sites and plenty of sporting activities. A trip to Inverness takes just 20 minutes, and flowing through the centre is the River Ness, with riverside walks and parks to meander and explore, and the city is dominated by the imposing castle right on the banks. Take the route along the old A9 through the charming village of Beauly with its historic priory and unusual craft shops, and the road finishes at the famous Caledonian Canal on the edge of Inverness. The nearby Black Isle is well worth a visit and boat trips run from here to view the resident bottle-nosed dolphins which frequent these waters. The area is renowned for its sporting and outdoor activities, including golf, fishing, mountain biking, watersports and spectacular hill and mountain walking. Beach 16 miles.
