Step back to the 1850’s at Davidson Cottage and experience how the Davidson family lived. This rustic detached cottage comes complete with the original stone flooring and wood beam ceilings. The two open fires downstairs are the main source of heat for the cottage and give the property a real cosy feel. They provide a wonderful spot to sit, reminisce and enjoy a dram. The cottage is truly steeped in Harley Davidson history and has been visited by many members of the family looking for a glimpse in to how their relatives lived. The photo of home owners Sandy and Margaret Davidson, from 1858, stands proudly in the parlour. Although the cottage has no bathroom or kitchen, and the only source of electricity is for the lighting, the members of the Davidson legacy have built a separate lodge next to the cottage. Here you will find two shower rooms and a kitchen area. This lodge has a lovely large windows which overlooks the stunning countryside.

Due to the popularity of Davidson Cottage within the motorbike community, you may find like minded bikers turning up just to look around or have their photo taken at the cottage. However, they will not have access inside the cottage while guests are there, unless of course, you are happy to show them around. Spending time here and living like the Davidson family did in the 18th century truly is a once in a lifetime experience for all motorbike enthusiasts.

The cottage is situated in a perfect area of Angus for exploring all there is to offer. Sitting 4 miles from Brechin and 7 miles from Forfar, you will be spoilt for places to visit. Two miles along the road at Aberlemno you will find the historic sculpture stones, which are certainly worth a visit. This area offers a wide range of walking paths to enjoy, especially at Murton Nature Reserve. The seaside town of Montrose is approximately 12 miles away and offers shops and restaurants, as well as a museum and natural harbour. Plenty of fishing opportunities can be taken at the lovely Rescobie Loch, 6 miles away. There are also three golf courses within 12 miles. Beach 12 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles.

This was our first time at the Davidson Legacy and it certainly won't be our last. The place was very historic and welcoming. There is plenty of room and the addition of the lodge is an added bonus. It has motorcycles storage on site and plenty of space for a couple of cars.
